Caterpillar Excavator Diesel Filter Replacement Procedure
1. Prepare special tools for easy disassembly
2. Remove the excavator diesel filter counterclockwise
3. Fill the new diesel filter element with diesel oil and replace it
4. Pump oil to exhaust air
Caterpillar Air Filter Replacement Maintenance Interval
The Cat air filter should be replaced or cleaned at least every 2000 hours or when the warning light is on. The outer filter element can be cleaned up to 6 times and then must be replaced. The inner filter element is a one-time item, which cannot
be cleaned and should be replaced directly. If the filter is damaged, it must also be replaced. Use clean, dry compressed air with a maximum pressure of 5 BAR for compressed air. Do not bring the nozzle closer to 3–5 cm. Blow the filter clean from
the inside along the pleats.
