In real life, many people find it difficult not to clean the hydraulic oil filter element, which will greatly reduce the service life of the hydraulic oil filter element. In fact, there is a way to clean a hydraulic oil filter element. The original hydraulic oil filter element is generally a stainless steel wire mesh. Cleaning such a hydraulic oil filter element requires soaking the filter element in kerosene for a period of time. When removing the filter element, the soiling can be easily blown off with air. However, it should be noted that if the original hydraulic oil filter element is not too dirty, this method cannot be applied, and the new hydraulic oil filter element still needs to be replaced.

The loss of the filter element is mainly caused by the blockage of pollutants on the filter element. The process of loading contaminants into the filter element is the process of plugging the through holes of the filter element. When the filter element becomes clogged with contaminating particles, the pores for liquid flow can be reduced. In order to ensure the flow of filter material, the differential pressure will increase. At the beginning, because there are many small holes on the filter element itself, the pressure difference through the filter element increases slowly, and the effect of the blocked hole on the overall pressure loss will be much smaller. However, when the blocking hole reaches a value, the blocking is very fast, at which point the differential pressure across the filter element rises very fast.

Differences in the number, size, shape and distribution of pores in standard filter elements also explain why one filter element lasts longer than another. For the filter material with a certain thickness and standard filtration accuracy, the pore size of the filter paper is smaller than that of the glass fiber filter material, so the filter element of the filter paper filter material is blocked faster than the filter element of the glass fiber filter material. Multilayer glass fiber filter media contains more contaminants. As the liquid flows through the filter media, particles of different sizes are filtered by each filter layer. Small pores in the post filter media are not blocked by large particles. The small pores in the post filter media still filter out a large number of small particles in the fluid.
